Love Of Vietnam Expressed

 Helping the Poor & Needy

1 John 3:16-18 NKJV: By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

What “Thanksgiving” means in the Bible

Several Greek and Hebrew words are translated “thanks” and “thanksgiving” in the Bible, but here is the big one:

(To praise and worship with extended hand!)

This is the main word for thanks in the Old Testament. The concept of thanks comes up 102 times in the Old Testament, and this word is used 72 of those times. Here’s the definition:

Acknowledging what is right about God in praise and thanksgiving. It can also mean a right acknowledgment of self before God in confessing sin

One thing I love about the Hebrew definition of thanks: it’s totally tied to who God is. The more we learn about God, the more we should praise and glorify Him.

- Give thanks (yadah) to the Lord, for his loving-kindness is everlasting. (2Chr 20:21)

- So I will bless thee as long as I live; I will (yadah) lift up my hands in thy name. (Ps. 63:1)

- Oh that men would praise (yadah) the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men. (Ps 107:15)

Bible repeatedly calls us to give thanks to the Lord for two things: His loving kindness, and for his miracles among men. This isn’t just a polite “thanks” for when something good happens. This is an outpouring of praise to God for who he is and what he has done.

How do we show “Thanksgiving” to God?

In addition to the praise and thanks we give to God, I believe that one of the most profound ways in which we can truly give thanksgiving to God is through SERVING HIM BY SERVING OTHERS. He told us that: “Inasmuch as ye have  done it unto one of the least of these my brethren,

ye have done it unto me” .

Thus, we know that to give thanksgiving to God we can serve Him, and to serve Him all we need to do is serve others. It is so simple. All it takes is a little planning and personal sacrifice and even then many opportunities to serve our fellowmen will arise when the Lord knows we are willing and seeking to serve each other.

Thank You God For Blessing Us Much More

Than We Deserve

God has provided us opportunity!

For this Christmas, we really feel challenged by God to reach out to 2 poor and remote communities in two different provinces which are located near DaNang city. The two pastors contacted us and asked the help for the church and poor people who have lately suffered from heavy storms and severe floods.

After surveying and discussing the needs we estimate that there are at least 200 poor families definitely need our help. L.O.V.E’s staffs have decided to do the mission for these 2 needy areas in the middle of December, close to Christmas’s time, a time of giving and sharing the joy. We of course do need help from supporters and sponsors so that many more and meaningful things are added to the 200 gifts. We would like to raise at least $3,000. That is 100 people donating $30 each. If you can help, please make a donation to LOVE for any amount of money according to your will via PayPal or check and named it for “Humanitarian Mission”.

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Lets together with their kind sponsors say to these cute little children, Happy birthday.

A household basket is indeed a helpful and loving gift in this rainy stormy season

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $30 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

Please Sponsor me!

About me: My father had a traffic accident 7 years ago. So he’s lost his laboring capacity since then. He only can help my mother with household chores and my grandma with light work in a vegetable garden nearby.  My mother works as a cleaner for a company, but her income is low. I have an older brother who is in grade 5 and just had his heart operated. Now he is taking medicine.  My youngest sibling is just 1 year old. As for me, I am in grade 3. It is always hard for my mother to allow my brother and me to be at extra classes and at school as well and to cover all expenses of the family. I do hope to receive some help from you in order that I will have chances to complete my education successfully.

(Prov 31:8-9 NIV)  "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
