Love Of Vietnam Expressed

Helping the poor and needy

(1 John 3:16-18 NKJV): By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Director’s notes

April is another normal month for us, but not for our children. The children are beginning to study for their so important exams, especially for all 5th graders to advance to secondary school, all 9th graders to advance to high school and 12th graders to graduate. The 12th  graders who graduate then must take exams to get into the universities or colleges. There are no spring breaks for Vietnamese children.

Andrew Student House

The Danang police have been able to help us straighten out the problem at Andrews’s House. They went to the ward police and are satisfied that the police at the ward were only trying to protect the boys because they are minority.

The police seem to have acted professionally. It was the landlord who was not so nice. She lied to the boys about the police telling her not to allow visitors. When we went directly to her and told her that the police told us that as a NGO who were helping these boys, we have a right to visit, she seemed very nice at this time, but the next day she gave them a week to get out. She has now confessed to lying to the boys and said she was wrong. The boys have found a nicer house already. Thanks for your prayers.

They still need a sponsor for the House!

Ian with his mother, from Singapore, visit a sponsored child and student house

We are always blessed when sponsors visit us and their sponsored children here in Danang.

Here they visit one of our student houses.

L.O.V.E. introduced Dang Thi Thuy to you some months ago. She is 30 years old.  Two years ago, while visiting her younger sister, who was studying in Da Lat city and working as a house cleaner and gas seller for a family owning a gas station, Thuy was seriously burnt and another woman died. Thuy’s body was burnt over almost 65%. After 2 years of treatment, she can move now, but there are lots of burns and scarring throughout her whole body.

She will undergo another operation in June and needs financial help as there is no more insurance or other money to help her.  If you can help, please contact Reggie, or make a donation and earmark it for Dang Thi Thuy.

Here she is with the pastor's wife.

Here a person brings her pencils to sharpen for the children

A church in Quang Nam asked us to help this lady to have a wheel chair.

Because of cancer the doctor had to remove part of her leg. Since her acceptance of Jesus, she has been rejected by some of her children and most of her village.

We bought the new wheel chair for her. We hope to somehow comfort her from the hurt of her heart and physical disability. Please remember her in your prayers.

Gifts – some letters, some pictures, and lots of love

These are boys of Daniel’s House. The boy on my right hand has blood cancer and now they have found a brain tumor. He is in much pain, yet he refuses to give up and continues his studies. Each day God gives him strength to study.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $30 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie, who lives in Danang.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

Please Sponsor me!

About me:  We lost my father in 2010 because of liver cancer and 3 years later, we also lost our mother because of liver cancer. The three of us inherit a big debt from the bank because my mother borrowed the money to pay the treatments for my father and cover the daily expenses. We are temporarily living in a house own by my parents but the bank will confiscate the house soon according to the signing agreement conditions before and we’ll have nowhere to stay then. My two sisters are studying and working as a part time student to raise ourselves but it is hard to handle everything and never enough, we still need help.

Family members:

  • Dang Thi Thanh Thuy (October 16th 1993) – Sister – 3rd year student

  • Dang Thi Thanh Thao ( November 2nd 1997) – Sister – 11th grader

LOVE’s note:  two singles or a family sponsorship is highly recommended

(Luke 14:13-14 NIV)  But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

(Luke 19:8-9 NIV)  But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."  Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham.

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

If you live in Europe, please contact our sister-organization www.G4Kids.de
