Love Of Vietnam Expressed

Helping the poor and needy

(1 John 3:16-18 NKJV): By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

The Lunar New Year festival (known as "Tết Nguyên Đán", "Tết ta" or simply "Tết" in Vietnamese) is the most important as well as the most widely and heartily celebrated traditional festival in Vietnam. Since Tet occupies an important role, Vietnamese will begin their preparations well in advance of the upcoming New Year. In an effort to get rid of the bad luck of the old year, people will spend a few days cleaning their homes, polishing every utensil, or even repaint and decorate the house with kumquat tree, branches of peach blossom, and many other colorful flowers. Above all, it is the time of joy and delight for children and adults alike and however the circumstances are, the Vietnamese can never neglect to properly keep their Tet.

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $30 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie, who lives in Danang.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

About me:  My father died when I was in 7th grade. There is only my mother who is able to work and she is only able to earn about $70 a month thanks to the farming work. But my mother does not have good health, she has ulcer and heart disease. I and my sister are at school but I am staying and learning in Da Nang city as I am a student. My hometown is in Quang Ngai city, about 120 km away from Da Nang. Our family is in tough situation and I look forward for a hand of help from L.O.V.E and sponsor.

Family members:

  • Phan Thi Cuc (1972) – Mother

  • Dao Viet Thien (1999) – Brother- 8th grade

LOVE’s note:  A family sponsorship is recommended.

(Mark 10:21 NKJV)  Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
