And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?  My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

'Twas the night before Christmas'

(I have change many words to remind us of the poor world-wide)

'Twas the night before Christmas', when all through the house, the rats and mosquitoes were stirring, no stockings are hung, there is no hope. The children were shivering on their mats on the floor, while dreams of milk and meat danced in their heads; just settled down for a cold and wet winter’s nap, hoping Spring would soon come.

Then came light through the cracks in the shutters, they crawl out of bed and dress in their tattered school uniform, still damp from washing the day before. No breakfast this morning and only a hope for lunch. A bundle of useless and torn books they fling on their backs, they looked like a mom who is a peddler before opening her pack.

Their eyes are dull with dread of the day! But at least they will see friends. Their round little faces, sunken cheeks and a little empty belly, longs for something to eat.

All day long is the dread that there may be nothing to eat this whole day through, just a bowl full of rice brings a sad sigh. There is no "Merry CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT."

Then! Many of YOU sent LOVE or someone else to their houses with a bag full of goodies, milk, cookies, a warm scarf and more. They have money for school fees, an extra class even. They now know someone cares and hope is born and so is a smile.

Thanks to all of you for sending us. We are so glad God sent us here. From Chi, Reggie and all our staff.

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $25 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Bảo Chi / Reggie who lives in Danang.   

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

Please pray for our work in December!

In addition to our normal work of translating letters (over 200 each month), providing money to over 300 children and students, visiting homes of new applicants and updating old ones, LOVE’s staff will be translating, delivering Christmas cards,  and many additional gifts from sponsors.

We also are packing red bags with gloves, socks, towels, milk and cookies and much more for each family. On December 19 we will have a Christmas party for our children, There will be Christmas music, singing, games, snacks for all and prizes. After that each child will receive his or her Christmas bag of goodies.

(Psa 41:1-3 NKJV)  Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.
